PBT Coaching
What is Progressing Ballet Technique (PBT)?
PBT is an innovative conditioning methodology that helps dancers find proper instrinsic muscle control and balletic coordination. Props are used to challenge stability, prompt correct alignment, and give proprioceptive feedback to dancers. PBT is incredible at building dancers' awareness of their bodies and beautifully translates into ballet class. Additionally, it is a safe, scientifically-backed technique that welcomes all ages and abilities.
Where does coaching take place?
Personal Online Coaching and Group Open PBT classes are conducted via Google Meet. The meeting link is included in your emailed invitation to the class. It will also be re-sent in a reminder email the day before your class.
A working camera and microphone are required. Please ensure your entire body is in frame so we can correct you.
What equipment is needed for coaching?
PBT exercises utilize yoga balls, 10-inch balls, and 10-foot resistance bands, all of which are highly recommended props for any dancer to own. Additionally, we use light hand weights, Bosu balls or wobble boards, tennis balls, and foam rollers in our classes. When you schedule, indicate which of the listed equipment you have access to so we can tailor your exercises accordingly.
Those without equipment are still encouraged to register. There is plenty we can do without props in the beginning. After learning you and your goals, we will guide you on what prop might be most essential for your training.
What should I wear for class?
While leotard & tights are not necessary, you need to dress in flexible, form-fitting clothing. Please ensure your clothes are a distinctly different color than the wall behind you.
We prefer bare feet for safety and correctional purposes.
Am I an advanced enough dancer for personalized coaching?
As a late-starter with her share of technical problems, Hayden believes dance training should not only be accessible to all, but should be adaptable for all unique bodies. Whether you are an advanced pre-professional dancer or an adult beginner who just took their first class, Personal Online Coaching is the safest, most encouraging way to reach your dance goals.
Additionally, whether you are classical training or focused on competition or commercial dance, personal coaching is the perfect foundation for all techniques.
Take class from someone who has been where you are and wants to make the journey easier for you!
Can you teach me in person?
We are currently working on offering individualized coaching through local studio space. Scheduling will be limited and a small studio rental fee will be added, but we are looking forward to the hands-on corrections this opportunity will allow.
In the meantime, existing students local to the Triad, NC, are welcome to reach out about in-home personal coaching.
Will you come teach a masterclass at my studio?
If your studio is in and around the Triad, NC, we would love to collaborate. From ballet and conditioning classes to seminars on dance theory, we would love to work with your students. Email us at hayden@haydencreechcoaching.com with your inquiry.
What qualifies you to teach?
Hayden is certified in Pre-Primary-level 3 of the American Ballet Theatre National Training Curriculum, providing a firm foundation in methodical pedagogy. She is a level 3 certified PBT teacher, knowledge she draws upon to teach her students about tailoring technique to their unique anatomy.
While early in her dance education career, Hayden is already on faculty at UNCSA Preparatory Dance, Surry County Dance, and Southeast School of Dance. She teaches ballet, pointe, PBT, ballet theory, and ballet history to students ages 6-18.
Her next goal is an M.A. in Dance Education to deepen her pedagogical knowledge and expose her to the world of dance research. Hayden cannot get enough of dance theory and has her heart set on the many ways she can make a difference in students' dance experience and success.
While she struggled achieving technique within her unique body, this equipped Hayden with the tools, research, and mindset to embrace and assist all dancers. Technique is not something that should be forced, but should be fostered and grown from the inside out. At Hayden Creech Coaching that is our primary goal.

Writing for Dance School Applications
Are you just proofreading my paper for typos?
No, this service gets down to the heart of your paper. We focus on substantive and copyediting, highlighting strengths and weaknesses in your structure, style, and voice. Working with us, your paper will reflect who you are, your goals, and your level of academic and artistic maturity.
Why do I need help editing my paper?
Within a specific prompt and a limited word count, schools expect you to tell them who you are, what you have done, and why you are right for their program. Our experience in English and dance education gives us insight into the power of a well-structured essay. Working with us is not laziness, it is seeking the strongest paper.
While you can submit something on-topic and grammatically correct on your own, we create excellent, memorable papers. It is that extra something that comes from a very well-structured paper with a clearly developed line of reasoning.
Is it plagiarism to get help with my paper?
No! We are very passionate about students producing original work. This is simply a tool. Think of it as feedback from a teacher on an assignment. We are not writing the paper or coming up with the ideas; we are pointing out areas for improvement in your own writing.
Can my dance resume be more than one page?
No, your dance resume should be one page long. Narrowing your experience down shows confidence and helps admission staff see the most important information about you.
If you cannot imagine removing any of the information you have on your 1.5 page draft, reformatting can help tremendously. That is a strong suit of ours.
I don't know how to format my resume...
Picking a format is very daunting. Templates can be restricting and it is hard to know which one will serve you. We love playing around with formatting and will present you with our top choices for your particular resume.
If you are purchasing our resume service and cannot figure out how to format your first draft, simply list the relevant information you want to include. We will work together to organize and structure it from there.
How much of my paper do I need to have written before you can start editing?
We can join you as early as the brainstorming process, giving suggestions on the direction your paper should take and helping you develop a thesis. That work is included in our brainstorming package.
If you already have a draft (it can be pages over the word count and unorganized), we can dive deeply into the work of identifying strengths and weaknesses.
How long does it take you to edit my resume?
The first round of edits on your resume will be sent back to you within 2 business days. You can take as much time as you need to implement them. We are even available for quick questions via email in the midst of that process.
It will take another 2 business days for us to review your second draft. In most cases, draft 2 requires only minor tweaks and we can finish up quite quickly.
My application is due next week! Is there time for you to edit my resume/ essay?
Things happen and deadlines can sneak up. Contact us with a draft of your resume/essay, application deadline, and all relevant information. We will respond ASAP to let you know if we have room to edit your work in time.
A GoogleMeet is usually the best way to work through edits in these cases.
You will incur rush fees.
How do we talk to you about edits?
In most cases we use GoogleDocs and email to communicate with students about their applications.
GoogleMeet is always an option for the sake of time. Some students prefer to focus in on their editing in one sitting. Scheduling is very limited for this live format, however.
Our Policies
Can I get a refund?
- All Essential Dance Digital Guides are final sale and may not be returned.
- Dancer stickers may be returned within 30 days. Contact us for more information and the return address.
Do I make a user account in my or my child's name?
While you may use whichever name and contact information is most convenient for your family, we recommend setting up an account in the parent's name and email if the dancer is younger than 13. We also recommend keeping the primary contact directed to the parent's email until the dancer is purchasing and/or scheduling on their own.
Be sure to include your dancer's name on the scheduling form, however.
